Get to know LED lighting

You don’t have to look far to find examples of LED (light-emitting diode) lighting. You can see this type of lighting being used in homes, buildings and on the streets. Most people don’t understand what exactly LED lighting is, how it works and the many benefits of choosing LED lighting.

LED lights are small light bulbs that can easily fit into an electrical circuit. “So how do these things work?” you ask. They are illuminated solely by the movement of electrons in a semiconductor material. Unlike the traditional incandescent light bulb, LED lights do not have a filament that will burn out, so in return they don’t get very hot.

Now that we know the basics, let’s look at the benefits of choosing LED lighting. As I said before, LED lights do not emit a whole lot of heat and they do not burn out as quickly. In comparison to incandescent lighting’s 1,200 hours, the average lifespan of the standard LED light is about 50,000 hours –that’s like comparing 1 1/2 months to 5 1/2 years! LED lights also require about 80% less energy than incandescent lights, saving you money on your electrical bill over time. Some added perks of LED lights are that they can withstand bumping and jarring much better than incandescent lights, and have little to no sensitivity to extreme weather conditions.

Here at Champion Studios we have a vast number of LED lighting options available to our customers. We have LED White Wire Strand Curtains, perfect for overhead lighting at special events. We also have LED lighting as an option for customers to light their Artificial Christmas Trees. LED lights can be incorporated into decor through anything from LED Manzanita SuperNovas to Topiary Deer.
